Clone Builders Unassign Clones: Remove One Clone or Clear the Crew
Unassign one clone or clear the whole assigned crew in Clone Builders using Unassign/Deassign and Deassign all in the mid-build Crew management window.
Quick answer
Open the Crew management window while your project is building. Use Unassign or Deassign to pull a single clone off the task, or Deassign all to clear the whole crew. Queued builds wait under the Queued tab until clones are free.
- Unassign / Deassign — removes a single clone from the task
- Deassign all — clears the entire assigned crew in one action
- Queued builds stay under the Queued tab until clones are free
Where the staffing controls live
The Crew management window is the hub for clone staffing mid-build. While work is underway, it lists each clone's status — entries like "CLONE 1: BUILDING" for every active worker — alongside a live piece counter for the model. This same window is where you can manage the crew while the build runs, including pulling clones off the task.
Removing one clone
To take a single clone off a task while the build is underway, use the Unassign or Deassign control in the Crew management window. Both labels are given for this one single-clone action, and no difference between them is spelled out — use whichever label appears in your window.
Clearing the whole crew
To clear the assigned crew from a project in one action, use Deassign all in the same Crew management window. It removes every assigned clone at once instead of one at a time.
What happens after clones are freed
The confirmed after-effect concerns queued work: queued builds wait under the Queued tab until clones are free, so freeing clones is what lets that backlog proceed. What happens to a build already in progress once its clones are removed isn't specified here — whether it holds its progress or stops is something to check on your project in game rather than assume either way.
Crew size is set when a project starts
For reference, staffing is first chosen at project creation: the default crew is 3 clones, adjusted with the minus and plus buttons, and the More Clones option opens additional capacity. The mid-build removal controls above are the complement to that setup choice.
Labels can change
Button labels and window behavior can change with game updates, so recheck the Crew management window in your current version if the controls don't match what's described here.
